This performance enters the anesthetised world of an abattoir worker. It explores the effects on a man who, in his daily work is responsible for the border between life and death. Director Sandra Lange’s work began with the idea that "some things are so complex, that they require careful watching." The light design aimed to facilitate this careful watching. I wanted to create a balance between an open, inclusive light where the performer could simply tell his story to the audience, who sat with him inside the décor, and more abstract theatrical moments where ideas of the piece were conveyed through image, movement and sound.
